Hi Greg! I’m a middle school teacher and I’m wondering if as a software developer you might be able to shed some light on what software BNL used in these amazing jams to record themselves successfully. At my school I run the student rock band (drums, guitar, bass, piano and vocals) and I tried to hold a band practice on Zoom but the lag was atrocious. I really want to do something for these kids but am at a loss of what solution to try. Thanks in advance for any help.

    1. Hi Rafael,

Although I am no software developer, I have had some experience in recording video and audio for things like podcasts. There are a slew of options available for both free and paid options and of course, while free is great it usually comes with limited features necessary to do certain things.

If you are looking to record a video with audio you can check out some things like: https://obsproject.com/ – it is free and widely used for things like streaming on twitch but you can also record as well. It might take a little bit of googling/youtubing to figure out the basics but I have used it lately and it seems like something that would meet your needs.

If you are looking to just capture audio, then https://www.audacityteam.org/ might be what you can use.
Hope this helps and stay safe!
      Brad
